Race Day Round-Up

Well where do we start with San Marino?

How about Dani Pedrosa, where did his pace come from today? He hadn’t done anything spectacular all weekend and on race day he totally dominated, he was untouchable. His ride flawless and overtakes perfect, you always hear people describe him as a gentleman and that’s even true when he’s shoving the Repsol Honda up the inside of his peers. The other top riders mostly opted for the medium front tyre, Marquez the hard and Pedrosa the soft. If you missed the race you must watch it.

It would of been nice to see Rossi win in front of his home crowd but Pedrosa more than deserved it today, what a ride. The same can’t be said for his team mate though. Marquez seemingly lost all the pace he had in free practice, qualifying and the warm up finishing in a lonely fourth. A similar scenario for Lorenzo, he managed third place, but all the pre-race pace he had was lost when the lights went out. Rossi quickly passed him on the second lap, an overtake which Lorenzo wasn’t best pleased about but racing is racing and we didn’t see anything wrong with it. Rossi held the lead right until the final stages of the race when Pedrosa made his move.

With Pedrosa winning this round he made the eighth different winner this season, that’s the most since 1949 when the championship began. MotoGP making more history today.

We can’t forget to mention Crutchlow who finished in eighth place making him the top independent rider so a congratulations for Cal.
