Yamaha MT-10

To say I’m a little excited about this bike is a massive understatement. I literally cannot wait, I wish I could hibernate until it’s release!!

Yamaha have taken the much loved R1 with it’s cross-plane-cranked-super-sounding engine and stuck it in a naked bike and done a touch of re-tuning.

The result of it all is 165bhp and 102NM torque. Did somebody say wheelie machine? This thing is going to seriously rip.

There seemed to be a lot of negative comments about the aesthetics, but I really like them. It’s a unique look and I think when manufacturers do something like this it takes a lot of people by surprise but in the end people warm to it. Just like the Super Duke.

KTM’s 1290 Super Duke R boasts 180bhp with 144NM torque from it’s 1300cc v-twin and having ridden the thing it is a monster but at the same time seriously tame (when you’re not unleashing the beast!). I don’t quite think the MT-10 is in the same class as the KTM but I want it more, and I love the Duke!

If the pricing comes in at the estimated £10k mark, buying the MT-10 over it’s rivals will be an easy decision for me.
